Projects

Here's the projects we are planning for 2025

Mid North Coast Villages Stories of Place

All our work commences with the engagement of each local community in the co-development of a Story of Place process which draws on the past and present to create a thriving future vision and set of projects curated by the Place and its people.

As partners of Regen Places Network and the Bioregional Institute, we collaborate around the proven programme patterns to co-create unique stories and programmes that enable resilient cultures and economies.

Bioregional Mapping of the Mid North Coast

We have commenced a process of mapping the ecological features of the bioregion and sub-regions including the fresh waterways, mountain ranges , forests and coastal ecosystems as a canvas for the First Nations stories of Place relating to each, followed by overlaying the current towns and human activity that creates the character of todays MNC. We will be collaborating with many local organisations , communities and professionals to collate this storyboard and working closely with our partners to harness the wisdom of bioregionalists doing this work all over the world.

We are also part of an international cohort of bioregionalists developing a process to assess the “ carrying capacity” of our bioregions to provide the context for identifying priorities for building resilience to the impacts of climate change and enabling a good life for its residents sustained within ecological limits and social foundations.

We will be seeking partnerships at Municipal level to collaborate around this initiative.

Bioregional Learning Centre Project

We have commenced the process of planning a bioregional learning centre which will focus on educating young people in sustainable living practices and regenerative practices unique to our bioregions requirements but aligned with emerging common global principles and patterns for co-creating regenerative living practices for a new generation .

We have identified options for a site for the centre and are currently commencing discussions to design and fund it.

Simultaneously we are designing the curriculum and creating partnerships with a range of organisations to align suitable programmes already available both nationally and internationally, in addition to designing new immersive programmes both onsite and offsite.

Global youth activation project

We have commenced discussions with a range of local partners to co-establish a local chapter of the Future Council initiative which will launch a global campaign ( including Australia) in early - mid 2025.

The Future Council is a global movement of empowered young leaders inspiring and collaborating with business and institutions to create a better future. Our goal is to embed the Future Council into businesses, schools and institutions as the new normal, unlocking wonder and creativity, giving permission to dream, and motivation to deliver. Think of the Future Council as a moral compass within an organisation.

We see this wide reaching set of partnerships rallying around this global youth movement as a critical part of creating a vibrant regenerative future for the Mid North Coast .
